About Marsden's

Marsden's Confectionery was set up in 2001 by myself, Alex Marsden-Smedley, and is based in Berkshire on the edge of the Downs. Marsden's Confectionery is a family run business and the award winning fudge and chocolate truffles are handmade following very traditional recipes. I use only the simplest and finest ingredients without any artificial flavourings or additives. All our fudge and truffles are made in small batches therefore maintaining the highest quality. I take great pride in producing confectionery that is unique and delicious.

I first started making the award winning fudge as a child at the age of 14 as presents for family and friends. In 1988 when I was living and working in London I got so fed up with buying very expensive chocolate truffles to give as presents and, having trained as a Cordon Bleu Cook, I thought I would try and make some of my own.

After I was married and had had children I wanted to do something and started doing a small amount of catering including making my fudge again for friends.

Very quickly they began to ask if they could buy the fudge and chocolates to give away them selves and now we supply some 30 shops in Berkshire and the surrounding counties. Our fudge is sold everywhere from delis to farm shops as well as at small country markets and fairs. It is also sold directly to the public at a number of Charity Christmas Fairs through out the Autumn.
